Eastern North Carolina
I'm Originally From North East Ohio, but I live in eastern north Carolina now due to being in the Marine corps, I've been in 3 years now and I'm in the infantry. I live there with my wife, and 2 dogs and I'm expecting my first son in 2 months!
I use a propane smoker I got from Lowe's for my birthday a few months ago, I'd like to say I make some awesome ribs with the dry rub I created but there's always room for improvement in other areas. I've had a passion for cooking ever since I was 12 and I plan to open a restaurant once I eventually get out of the corps.
Anything outdoors and adventurous I love, for example my wife and I are finally going on our honeymoon next April (we have been married almost 3 years now) to Hawaii and are going skydiving, shark cage diving, scuba diving, hiking along cliffs and what not, I also love to golf and relax at the beach. Well I think I wrote enough to bore anyone so I'll leave it at that.

Welcome to the board! Are you at Cherry Point, or New River? I've been to those bases on business. I made sure to try the local little Q stands as much as I could while I was there.

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from a warm, cloudy and humid day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Welcome to SMF from NC! :welcome:
We're glad to have you. The search bar at the top is your most valuable resource here. This forum has been around for over ten years, so there is a good chance that any questions you may have, have already been answered (they may have 10 different answers, but you'll get an instant response non the less).
Please be sure to post your smokes along with your process and recipes. We will be glad to help you along the way and we may also learn something new ourselves in the process. Also, don't forget the very important Q view! (We're mad for pics on here [emoji]128513[/emoji])
Always remember to have fun because it's not fun if you have to work at it.
Thanks for joining,
- Ryan

At blue I'm actually stationed at neither, I'm at camp Lejeune. And thanks for the warm welcome everyone I can't wait to learn everything I can!

Welcome from SC, Shroeder. I'm sure you will enjoy this site with all the great folks eager to share ideas, tips, reciprs or anything else that you mat need. All you have to do is ask. Keep smoking, Joe

I was at LeJeune, too, I think that was 1999. The guard post at the entrance was unoccupied, and there was a big sign hanging saying PROCEED.

I was helping to train the commissary workers as they switched their inventory bar-code readers over to 802.11 wireless technology.

Welcome to the forum & thank you for your service. My son was stationed at LeJuene with 2/9, they were deactivated about 2 months ago.

Oh wow its a lot stricter now a days! For obvious reasons haha and what until did he go to papajeep? Because we just got a bunch of guys from there when they disbanded
