The U of Ill Extension has a pretty good web article about cooking methods and safe alternatives to some common, yet unsafe cooking practices (like many I have used, and sadly have made mention of on this forum....sorry all!):
http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/turkey/techniques.html
Anyhow, they have good advice like:
"Experts agree that brown paper bags were never intended for use as cooking utensils."
and my personal favorite:
"Cooking a whole, stuffed turkey in the microwave oven is not recommended."
Happy safe T-Day all (in case I miss ya'all tomorrow...will be on the road shortly), may your smoke be blue (and not coming out of your oven) and your memories be bright!
