I'm not sure what you mean, but as far as I know he dropped them in like you see in the Pic, and kept them like that.

I thought he first time I saw the Eggs, they were snug in the holes, but I'm guessing I was wrong because I'm sure he designed it with spacing in mind due to heat radiating from the egg into the wood.

OK--I see what you meant now.

Yes he has space between the Egg & the table.

Originally he said he was going to change that table top to Granite, but he hasn't gotten around to that yet.
