So I went camping at a few State Parks here in FL this week.. rained the whole time so that sucked... first I went to Lake Kissimmie St. Park and did a little fishing... they have this weir there and the bass were just laying in wait for the bait fish to come over the falls...

this is the Wier... just cast up to it and retrieve faster than what the water was flowing.. made the bait look like it was hauling ass to get out of there

this one was about 7 lb... biggest I got was pushing 9 lb

So we left this park and went to Highlands Hammock State Park (Sebring).. The site of this years 3rd annual South Florida Gathering (link to post, http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/138307/2013-south-florida-gathering-3rd-annual-nov-8-10th ),,, here is where I did some ABT's and the beef ribs...

some ABT's.. put seeds back in a little bit of the mixture for 6 hot ones.. rest were mild...

Beef Ribs with a KISS... (SPOG)

after 3 hrs.. ready to wrap with beer

after 2 hrs in foil.. going back on to crisp up for 30 minutes

and the Finished Product looks like this

OOPPPPSSS... forgot to take pics when I cut them up... was so eager to eat that I forgot....

so here is a BEAR VIEW of the last one

The mini is a great little traveler!   Keith is the bass going on the mini as well?  You should wash it down with an ice  cold Bass also!    Keith

  6. [IMG] Are you trying to kill me????   Fishing >> BIG bass >> ABTs >> and 'Que all in one thread??   If you'd tossed a [IMG]in there, I think you darn near achieved perfection!!   I'm just a wee bit [IMG] with envy but looks like you had an amazing day!

Thanks y'all... naaa.. bass didn't make it to the smoker... catch and release.. but I did give the one in the picture to a little 6-7 yo boy.. got him to take the picture for me (by myself) so I gave him that...
you wouldn't believe how easy they were to catch... I could have made a 30 minute fishing show with no edits and had more in that 30 minutes than a recorded show... as for perfection... we had the  (hence the screen name)... Bear.. as far as records.. my personal record was broke about 5 times in this one outting... I was using a medium sized rattle trap.. said what the hell.. bigger bait means bigger fish.. right? so i tied on a large rattle trap.. 2nd cast was the 8-9 lb'r (no pictures.. a ranger and another fisherman took pics tho...

    I just checked:

PA state record------- LM Bass----11 LBS 3 ounces-------caught in 1983.

See what I mean----I guess because our growing season is so short for Bass.
