My little air compressor went kaput. I used it as a tire inflator. So now I'm shopping for a tire inflator.
I'm caught between Dewalt and B&D. I have the 20V batteries for both. I really like the cordless idea, its been a PITA to drag an extension cord around to run my air compressor...
Do you let your cat out over night ?
My security cameras are picking up a cat in my backyard every night, between 1 am and 3 am. I'm thinking this has to be a feral cat. I can't imagine any pet owner letting the cat run the neighborhood all night ?
Sunday evening, we sat on the patio and...
My Hunter ceiling fan refused to start. The light does not work either. Which tells me its not getting power.
I checked the breakers. But there's little chance this fan is on a breaker by itself and there were no breakers closed.
So I'm thinking possibly a loose wire. But I doubt...

‘It’s Not Rocket Science:’ Getting More Women to Embrace the Grill
In fact, its so easy a caveman can do it .............. and they actually did. So why can't a woman grill ?
Mrs Okie and I went to a local barbecue joint for lunch today, Edge Craft Barbecue...
I'm smoking a couple racks of baby backs tomorrow. From watching Steven Raichlen's Planet Barbecue series last summer, he visited a joint in San Antonio that sprayed cherry syrup on their baby backs.
Cherry on baby backs is right down my alley. I think cherry and baby backs are like...
I've dug out two cast iron pots my Dad used to fry catfish. He passed in 1996 and its been 30 years since these pots have been used.
I'm thinking about using them to fry catfish and maybe some other uses on the smoker. Is there anything I need to do to them ?
Hard to get good pics, but...
I just started this 750 pg behemoth. It will take a while to get through it.
Its by Max Hastings, a Brit historian, who as a young man reported from Vietnam for the BBC. I thought a view of the war from a non American source might be interesting.
I turned draft age in the latter stage of...

Took water pan and lower grate out of the 18 WSM that I bought in 2002 and still turning out good cooks. Used a chimney and 1/2 of fully lit B&B Oak Lump. And a small split of pecan. Been a while since I measured temps, but it should...
I just helped my cilantro get through a couple of nights with over night lows around zero degree. I covered it with leaves, then soaked the entire bed, and then put Agribon row cover over the top. Its now uncovered and appears to be doing fine.
But I've got other cilantro plants that I...
I'm a fan of Chef Tom. I've learned much from him and mostly about cooking rather than just barbecue.
They don't say if these were the most watched or their Top 10, but they're here

And I thought it was gonna be country music.
But I've not heard a song yet, that's talking about ...
being drunk
or mom
or prison
or rain
or pick up trucks
or trains
I guess I'm not current on country music.
I have a lot of rib and butt trim in my freezer that I need to use. I'm not into making sausage yet, so I'm thinking I put it on the smoker and then put it in chili ? I've got about 6#'s that after I trim off the fat, will probably be 3 or 4# .
Or should I mix some beef in ?
I foil around the vortex when grilling wings. I redo this about every 2nd or 3rd cook. Not only does it keep the bottom of the Kettle clean, it redirects air flow right up through the bottom of the vortex.
I'd like to find a way to make this easier. I searched for large pizza pans...
