Well I decided to put a work bench downstairs to start doing some grill restorations and mabye some old wood furniture that we have lying around that needs to be refinished so Im posting my progress here to see if anyone comes up with any decent ideas while im working on it cause im not much of a builder or fabricator so we'll see how it goes lol ....
Point im at right now is putting filler in where I countersank the bolts for the top of the table and waiting for the back panel there to dry ...

Thinking about here ... taking this board which is 78 inchs long and cutting it down to 3 26in pieces and making three shelves out of it ...and putting them up against the black board there... the other side of the board im probably going to tack in some small pieces of scrap wood and put up a big piece of peg board on the left side of the shelves..

Wishin ya would tell us what yer end results or final project is. Me...fer stress relief, restore old furniture. I always get the Look from Louie when I find a project. Let us know what ya need or huntin!

Ill be posting pics of my progress as I go along...right now the countersink holes are deep ones so the wood filler will take a few to dry and then ill have to do it one more time and let it dry before I can sand the top and im going to use a pecan stain for the top and the sides ....think im just going to cut a corner and not stain the bottom dunno yet ... also got metal angle bracket im going to lock the table right into the backboard there ...

First coat of pecan wood stain .... wood filler ... ehh sanded down flush but not really the right color but hey its a work bench ...

Looks good. Now I have to ask because I am tall. Did you make sure that the work surface was at a comfortable height for you?

yeah I set the board on top cause im 6'1 so that was the first thing I thought of and I knew I could add blocks if needed but it came to a nice height as is ... I think I probably cut it a little wide though lol .... big work surface just tough to grab stuff off the back of it so im taking a 5 1/2 x 2 inch board and bracketing it on the back board there to take 5 1/2 inchs off the width of the table and putting up a peg board ...

Been slacking a bit on getting this thing done cause I have had to use it for some computer repairs lately but this is almost done I would say....still have some room to clean out and some shelves to put up as well as im having an electrition come in and run me an outlet str8 from the box since its about 6 feet away, should be simple enough.

Nice lookin' work bench Div. As soon as you bump in to one of those sharp corners, you'll be breakin' out the jig saw to radius em. Ouch!
