where to get pecan wood in atlanta ga

I live up in ohio and would love to get my hands on some pecan chunks. I traded some cherry for pecan once before and loved the pecan. My sister lives in the atlanta area . She will be coming home in may and june. Could anyone help me with some local bbq stores that sell pecan. This way I can save on shipping with her coming this way anyhow.

I live about an hour from Atlanta and I have found pecan in our Walmart from time to time. I also always find it at Academy Sports. They have a very good outdoor cooking department. She can also check BBQ's Galore, I think there are a couple of them in the Atlanta area.

Why buy the expensive storebought stuff when your sister lives in an area withlots of Pecan trees. Ask her nicely to go out to a Pecan orchard and ask for a trunk load of limbs(3"to 4" dia. or so). Probably cost little to nothing. Then you may be able to get ahold of the grower and set up a deal to keep it coming.

Just an idea, but you never know. All that can be said is "NO"

I'll have to ask her if she can find a local pecan farm close to where she lives. That might be the best bet.
