Gave up on network TV years ago when the push for reality TV became too much to bear. YouTube is Great, motor trend was good for the first year and then they started focusing on auctions and heidi-toity builds so they just canceled themselves. Not going to be motor trend next year they already announced it. So I hope and wait for a show with character development, a well thought out plot comp and actors who actually have talent. It been a long wait. Last TV show I watched live was mythbusters.

Saw a trailer for Landman with Billy Bob Thorton in it tonight... looks interesting!
Watched the first four episodes and its classic BBT. Good acting and interesting characters. I worked in the oil and gas patch in south central Kansas for ten years as a Measurement Tech. The show definitely brought back memories. But...........there is a scene where rough necks are trying to close a stuck valve at the well head with a pipe wrench and they have the wrench on the stem backwards and are pulling and hammering in the wrong direction. Very hokey! Other than that, It's pretty good. Billy Bob is certainly the main character so if you are not a fan you might want to pass. Just my two cents.

Well crap. Now its .99 cents a month for a year. Tried sighing up with my other email but no go. Trying to watch Justified for the 3rd time but the commercials are killing me! I might just cancel!
They would have to PAY ME to watch with commercials. I get the offers in my email box and wont do it until they offer Ad free. We have been so spoiled by the Dish Hopper DVR I feel like a total sap sitting though commercials. We watch everything prerecorded (or an ad free streamer) except when I might have the TV on and running in the background while I'm cooking or something.

I was just talking to the wife about Dish going up as our last "deal" burns out this month...I could get rid of it and learn to live without it...maybe try YouTube TV or something, but she helped justify it by the fact that we never go to the movies. I hate movie theaters...primarily because there is no pause button! Gotta use the bathroom? S#%T out of luck!

A couple can spend $50 a pop easily going to the movies factoring in some concessions, gas money and vehicle mileage (It's 2 gallons of gas just for us to drive to the theaters in town and back). With my choices, at least $100 because if I am going to see a movie in town, I'm going to the draft house cinema where the beer and food would be far more than the tickets!

Yea, that makes the cost of Dish well worth it if I dont have to go out anywhere and the wife isn't complaining about that!

YouTube TV has commercials, I have it and love it. The streaming with no commercials is slowly going away. Sub fees alone simply don't support the programming . Many of the streamers operated in the red for years to build a customer base. It was just a matter of time.

We’ve watched the first two episodes. So far so good. See how the rest of it goes.

I like Landman, Sunday night trio for me is Yellowstone, Landman and Lioness. I recently started watching Outlander on Netflix. Took me about 6+ episodes to get hooked. Really enjoy it now.
We really got hooked on Outlander! We stopped watching it when we ran out of seasons to watch... not sure if they made more or not... or what was the last season we saw. It's been a long time.

Any of you guys ever used Amazon Prime Video? We have it because we are Prime members and use it to watch Thursday night football but haven’t really explored it past that. Curious how it stacks up to Netflix and Hulu, we currently have dish and our equipment is old so thinking of just streaming.

We have Prime but pretty much use it for the same reasons. Check out you tube TV, we did a free trial and it seemed pretty good. Also I think you can put a pause on your Dish service while you try something else.

I'm watching Landman and am mixed about it. I have to keep reminding myself its fiction and written for drama. But while they get some things about the oil patch right, they get a whole lot wrong.

I could list all the things that make me cringe, but it would take too long. I do give them credit, I was expecting a version of the old Dallas series, and this does not paint a picture of oil gas as being evil and wicked.

It is entertaining though. I'm enjoying the series.

I just started watching Outlander last year , and watched all the seasons.
It just started the last and final season about 3 weeks ago. It is on Monday nights here.
It took a couple of shows to get into the people , I think it is a great show , and how they incorporate some history into the time lines.

" What are you watching it on? " from Ryan

I watch it on my TV as on my phone it is too small...... lol,. I know I'm an ass.

Really i am watching it on " W " Woman's network , which is just part of regular tv programing . It might also be on their streaming side of things . But i have it to record as it isa always hit and miss for me to be able to sit at the right time for it to be on.

So it is the final season which is Season 7

Hope this helps Ryan
