Well, how I got those front row seats, is kind of interesting story.
I heard Eric was coming to OKC. And being frustrated with purchasing bad seats to concerts, I called the arena and asked how I can get good seats for Eric Clapton.
The guy I talked to was helpful. He told me tickets were going on sale Friday at 9am. And I needed to be at the arena ticket office at 8am
Well, I follow his instructions. I get there at 8 am and I'm in line at the ticket office. I'm number 10 in line.
About 8:45 , " the man " comes out of the ticket office and he hands us this raffle ticket looking thing, that puts us in numerical order. Its verified now, that I'm number 10 in line.
Then he comes back and calls out the first five people in the line and tells them they have to go to the back of the line. By that time, there had to be 50 people in line. They were angry, but they complied.
That boosted me to number 5.
And then " the man " opened the ticket office and allowed us inside where there were 5 ticket windows. And I got in front of one of them.
So there I was , at 8:55 standing in front of a ticket window waiting for 9 oclock to buy tickets.
I just bought two and walked out without looking at them. There was another guy standing there who had just bought tickets, he had four, and he said they were on Row B.
My tickets said Row A. I asked him where that was at .......... he said " man, you on the front row " .
I laughed all the way to the truck where I called Mrs Okie and told her, it was kind of euphoric to have that kind of good fortune.
Won't ever happen again, Ticketmaster now controls those seats in the front, and they're not gonna let some Average Joe like me purchase those tickets for measley face value.
