Just bought a CBsilver smoker. Instructions very vague. On the fire box, When do you open the top vent as opposed to the bottom vent and what does each one do? Not the stack. Thanks men. Trying it out for the first time. Iusually use an electric or dome.

I just got a Silver smoker myself and just did a dry run burn last weekend. From what I could tell it just increase air flow. I was maintaining a good 225-250o with just the bottom vent opened about 1/3. Hopefully you'll get more responses from folks who've had more experience as I'm interested also.

I only use the bottom vent myself. With the bottom vent open about 3/4 to 1" and the pit vent open about 3/4", my temp were staying in the 230-250 range.
