Going to make a polish kielbasa part or the recipe calls for pickling spices, do I crush the seeds up before I add it to the sausage?
i run my through a dedicated spice/coffee grinder as my pickling spices contains thing like bay leaves and i don't want to bite into one. only thing i don't grind up are mustard seeds as i like the mouth feel and bite of themGoing to make a polish kielbasa part or the recipe calls for pickling spices, do I crush the seeds up before I add it to the sausage?
Me and Ethan went to school together !! small world!! yeah his old grandpa recipe is very goodIt's your choice. I made Ethan Chlebowski's recipe which does not call for grinding them and it was excellent. If I make his recipe again I would consider grinding them, just to change it up. It's all good, and it all beats what the stores sell. So many sausage recipes and so little time!
