I hope it works for those anywhere that need brisket. I have 3 in the freezer at the $1.99/lb from months ago. This week is choice ribeye value packs from $15.99 on sale at $11.99 and with digital coupon $8.99/lb. Seems other areas with Kroger are $5-$7/lb with this value pack digital coupon. There weren't any available the other day even at my higher price.

I looked at hams and others in TX that weren't specific but Nolan Ryan beef was only TX, OK and LA so there are digital coupons to share.

The merger is bad news for consumers. Both have economies of scale enough to keep producer prices in check. They wouldn't be doing it if they didn't expect to take more money from customers. The only reason to do it is to reduce competition. They will say economies of scale, but both are there already.

Maybe so but I don't see the government putting any limitations on Wal-Mart. They are the original reduction of competition. And what they did is truly an American success story.
Kroger and Albertson's together doesn't come close the the economy of scale of Wal-Mart.

Went to Kroger today for the $1.99/lb chicken breast and saw $8.00/lb giant scallops!!!! Also bought one of the 2 pound bags of big ass cooked shrimp for $15.97.
I don't know what is going on with shrimp and scallop prices the past few months but I love it!!!
These big scallops were on sale for $12, then $10, and now $8. I love it!

I know this thread took a hit once Kroger started getting a little regionalized with their digital coupons but I had time and noticed tomorrow 10/9 Kroger will start having $1.99/lbs Baby Back ribs in the 75287 zip code.
If you like snow Crab legs maybe that is a good price for $7.77

Please report back if the ribs deal is working for you :D

I found 77304 had baby back's for $1.79. And 23322 had chuck roast for $4.49 and pork loin for $1.79. I suspect it will be regional but thought I would throw it out there. One could always hope they will go back to the old ways.

I've seen a few times where they don't region lock them still. Always worth a look.
