BTW I find it super cool that all you guys around the country are getting to experience the wonderful food sale prices we get here in TX. You now see why I don't fret over scoring pork butts and why I mention I probably average about 1-2 briskets a month that I smoke.

Between Kroger, Tom Thumb/Albertsons, and other stores (Market Street, HEB, etc.) I get about 2 of these pork butt deals a month and the previous type of brisket deal about once every 2 months.
No need to move here to experience the good prices. I mean we love having good people here but could use some relief from the volume of people that have been moving in from all over the country every month, for many years now hahahaha :D
It was nice being in Kansas City where plenty of good nice and enjoyable things were available but only 400k people to deal with in the city vs the millions here hahahaha :D

I just bought 2 - 10 pounders tonight to add to the 2 others I already have. I just can't help myself. I cut off the coppa roast for various things and grind the rest for sausage. I save a few for pulled pork. Parked them next to the 3 briskets. Oh, and few turkey breasts and about 10 racks of various pork ribs. Next to about 50lbs of ground beef and pork. I can't wait for Tuesday mornings to scourer the preview ad's throught out this great country. I am generating a list of zip codes that have the best deals. Full disclousure... I am getting physiological help but my therapist tells me you guys are not helping! After the above comment, I am dumping my therapist to buy more meat. I will now turn to the team here for counselling.

I feel your pain. Sounds a lot like the inside of my chest freezer. Just add about 30 pounds of various bacons and a few pork bellies.
The other day my wife told me I had a problem. I said Ya damn right I have a problem and that problem is I need another freezer right now!

Oh, yeah! $17.31 for the two of them! Receipt said "Saved $62.75." Although, I can't imagine who in their right mind would pay $40 for a pork butt.
