Does anyone make these that I can purchase?  I'm not very handy, but would love one.

Look up big poppas drum smoker...you supply the barrel.

I've looked at the kit, but don't you have to weld and do some modifications?  Like I said, I'm not very handy.

No welding required and no modifications required. You need 2 tools ...a drill (they supply the step bit) and a adjustable wrench.

Are there any modifications that would make the UDS much better through welding doors or anything of that nature?

No it's great just the way it is!

The only thing that's nice it doesn't have is a auto temp controller but isn't necessary.
