Tri Tip

    Going to try a Tri Tip this weekend. I could not find one anywhere so I went to my local butchershop to order a couple of them.

    He was like "Nobody does that around here. Are you sure you know what you want?"

    After explaining what I was going to do he was almost as enthused as I am. They should be in today. I just printed off Jeff’s recipe so I’m anxious to get started. [​IMG]
     
  2. Good morning Arnie, I live in San Diego C.A. where we can get Tri Tip anytime we want it. Tri Tip is a poor mans prime rib rost. When you smoke the tip dont try to do to much to it. Just salt, pepper, and garlic will give you a wonderful dinner. One more thing, when you buy your tip make sure there is a good Fat Cap on it.

    Jeff's recipe says the same thing so I plan to treat it kindly.
    I was surprised at the short smoke time.
    I am assuming this must be a much better piece of meat than what I have been playing with
