I personally miss them! As an avid concert goer in my younger years as well as other venues… be it Monster Trucks or a PBR…

I just loved that little ticket stub of what, where and when! As a kid, I had a mirror I’d stick the stubs between the glass and the frame!

Maybe I am just old fashioned… but I just ordered some PBR tickets… and there is no “stub” per se to be proud of!

Maybe it’s my age shining thru… but I do miss the days when even though convenient to just scan the phone now days…

I still miss that ticket stub!

My first was The Oak Ridge Boys back in the later 80’s…. Elvira!!

My last I’d be proud to show if I could was ZZ Top! Holy Moly can those boys still Rock!

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else misses the old ticket stubs?!

First name brand show I attended was Alice Copper in 1978. Couple years later went to a stadium event with Charlie Daniels as the headliner. That was a great day.
Also saw Jimmie Buffet. That was a great concert. Friend of mine got so wasted he was entertaining the neighbors. They served beer and he spilled carry trays, twice. Concert was simulcast on a local radio station. Best comment from Jimmie was "this is being broadcast on ZXCV, but they cannot smell the wonderful stuff you are smoking in here. Funny as there was a no smoking policy in the venue. Sucks being the designated driver.

Hell yes I miss ticket stubs for concerts!
I gripe every concert I go to because they were better than a concert t-shirt as a memento.
Last month a friend and I saw Creed, 3 Doors Down and Mammoth (WVH), got a cool 3DD baseball style t-shirt but still missed that physical ticket for it's stub.
Next big show I'm anticipating is Ghost in Atlanta come July.

What I miss most is my ZZTop keychain. I loved that thing and have no idea where it went.

ZZTop, Monsters of Rock, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Van Hegar, Blue Oyster Cult, Metallica, Motley Crue are the best ones on the top of my head but there were so many more in the late 80's and early 90's.

I also spent a lot of time with friends in the Hollywood scene. It was not like what it is now. There were a ton of up and coming groups like Guns and Roses and more I can't think of now but also a lot of new wave bands that were popular back then.

I was kind of a wild bad boy in my youth and don't regret any second of it. It helped make me what I am today.

At one point I did have a box with all my old ticket stubs, not only concerts but also sporting events. Countless LA Kings and Dodger games and other sporting events. Eventually it was lost in time but the memories still remain.

Ah the memories of way back , and yes Justin the stub was the proof that it did happen.

First was The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in the early 70's, at a small outside venue.
My favorite back then was Dr. Hook, when he did Sylvia's Mother. The whole band ran off the stage and left Dennis on the stage , he said what the hell am I going to sing now all by myself.
And there it was my most favorite rendition of Sylvia's Mother.

Many others , Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, George Thorogood , The Highway Men, Martina McBride 1991 sang a song Cheep Whiskey that should have had more air play , very strong message .

So many concerts back than. Missed Alice Cooper every time he came to town, I was always out of town.

I actually miss standing in long lines at Tower Records waiting to buy the tickets, it was a party in its self.

I had a rig binder full dating from 1972 up to around 2000, 90% of them were old school rock bands. I gave it to a kid, along with some old concert shirts.
The kid was really into old school rock bands, and was 10X the guitar player that I am, he was stoked. I wish I would've made copies of each page, to look back onto them.

I agree. I recently attended a sold out Nate Bargatze comedy show. Tickets were electronic, sent thru email, but I always print them out anyway. Good thing, as there was some kind of wifi outage or something, and a lot of people were standing outside the venue with their useless phones in their hands, trying to bring up their barcodes.

I try to will call any shows I go to so that I end up with hard tickets.Another thing I do is go to the box office and complain that your mobile tickets are having issues and will sometimes get issued hard tickets.

I do the same, I went up to Seattle last yr with my wife to see Anthrax, and Black Label Soctiey, I said my phone was acting up, and will call hooked me up with hard tickets. Great show by the way!!!

Saturday evening I pulled one of my suits out for the Company Holiday Party, and what did I find in a pocket?

That's right a concert ticket.
I'd forgot that the Saenger Theatre still provides hardcopy tickets for their shows due to demand for them.

We have season tickets to the Mobile Symphony, with early access to special event sales.
Prime example here, Yo-Yo MA.
One of the best, if not the best Cellist in the world.
This was our second time seeing him play, first was maybe 10-12 years before.
Extraordinary!
