I was backing out of my garage today when I spotted something behind my van. It then walked toward the open garage and I thought ****e, I didn't want it in there. Fortunately she didn't go in but vanished from view. I was affraid of running the poor thing over and got out to see where it went. She was standing on the drivers side and I called to her and she came right over shaking and it looked like she didn't have a tail. I petted her a few times and she just looked at me and I melted. It was cold and VERY windy, probably scared to death and freezing, with her very short hair.

I decided to put her in the van, and didn't seem to mind.

In a matter of 2 minutes she made herself comfortable. I already have 2 dogs and couldn't take her, broke my heart.

We have a pound a few miles away and took her there. I asked for help as I didn't want here to get away and when the gal tried to put a leash on she balked and I held her in place. Then she didn't want to leave the van so I put her on the ground and after following the gal a few steps her little tail just popped up.

I guess she was happy now, I hoped as I got back in the van and left. I was told they would hold for 7 days for the owner then up for addoption and as long as she was healthy would NOT euthinize so that made me feel better. She looked in perfect health so I think she will be alright.

Happy ending I hope!

I am a sucker for stray animals, I took in a stray kitty a few years ago, didnt know she was pregnant at the time. Now we have her and one of her sons.

Looks like that girl is a Jack Russell terrier. I know how you feel Ron- I have three beagles and last Monday the neighbor tried to give me a stray beagle l(looked to be about a year old) that he found along the road. I couldn't take it because I'm already one pup over the limit and told him to take the pup to the animal shelter that's less that a mile away or call them and have them come pick it up. My girl beagle was upset with me that I didn't keep it. As soon has the neighbor put the pup on the lawn, Roxy went to town grooming the pup.

It hurts but what can you do but hope that it gets adopted out to a good home.

Yes, looks like a Jack/Parson Russell terrier there. Probably one of the best small dogs out there. Extremely high energy, loving dog. And won't weigh 70 lbs. causing the bed to turn over when she jumps into it... hee hee. OK, so the beds never actually turned over...

The owners picked up the dog.

Hooray!

I called today and was told the owners came and got her.
Makes me happy.
