Has anyone heard any information on actual ship dates for the T'Works RFX? I knew when placing my order that the estimated shipping was "September". But as we are closing out of August, I'm realizing "September" is starting to sound longer than what I hoped. And, yes, I'm not a patient human.

I'm excited for this to come out also. It "should" be better than some that are currently available. When you do get it let us know how it works.

Don't know but welcome back seems it's been awhile. Glad your back

I go this in email from Thermoworks today

I want to personally thank you for your enthusiasm and trust in our newest innovation, RFX. While we can’t wait for you to try this groundbreaking wireless probe, we’ve encountered a delay in shipping. Due to an overwhelming number of orders and additional FCC testing, pre-orders will now ship in 3–4 weeks.

But here’s the silver lining: this short delay has allowed our product engineers time to make RFX even better. We’re moving from timed data transmission intervals to a smarter system that sends updates based on temperature change instead. Now, within the ThermoWorks App, you can choose increments of temperature change to trigger update transmissions, giving you more control and better quality data. Choose smaller increments for quick-cooking steaks or larger increments for low-and-slow briskets to get the data you need while maximizing our already industry-leading battery life.

Thank you for your patience as we work to bring you the best wireless thermometer on the market. We’re committed to keeping you updated on your order status and ensuring you get your RFX setup as soon as possible.

I was in the process of posting this when I got your post update. This was my concern all along given the lack of updated information from T-works. Oh well. It isn't a tragedy and should be an every day reminder why I should never pre-order anything interesting. I'm not patient enough. :-)

I got the same email but FCC testing is important -- wouldn't want our other devices to crash during a cook now would we ;) - I like the change of state feature and who knows, maybe they will pull in other planned features. As an engineer, customers will often forgive late over crap - me personally I would rather have it late and working too over having it now and it not working as planned. Guess we will need to use our Smoke x4's a little longer.

Not totally unexpected but it’s the next communication in 3-4 weeks that will solidify my mind.

Since tomorrow will be 3 weeks from when T-Works announced there would be a 3-4 week delay, I reached out to them via chat. They would not give definitievly updated ETAs (I get it) but said based on my pre-order date, would hopefully get an email at the end of this week or early next with shipping information. So at this point, it is looking more like the 4 side of 3-4 weeks.

I do want to reiterate that this isn't a tragedy. I'm a big boy and can cook without toys. I just don't like it. I also want to make sure I have enough cooks under my belt and can trust the new hardware before the turkeys need to be done.

I canceled my order a couple weeks ago, but had nothing to do with this delay in shipping. The more I thought about it, I thought I did not have enough use for it to justify the expense. I'm doing good with wired probes.

That said, I smoked a brisket on the Franklin last Friday and it would've come in handy.

I will probably reconsider at some time, just not now.

Thanks for the update Josh. Yeah, I'm in no rush either, so whenever it gets here.

What really sold me on the RFX , was the probe had four sensors.

My biggest worry when smoking a brisket or a large cut of meat like a pork butt, is that I've got the probe in a fat seam. I put a wired probe into a brisket before I hit the stall. I want to know when it comes out of the stall.

But after it does, I then get my Thermopen and start checking around and dayuum, I can get several temp readings.

And on a brisket, the last to get done is the middle, right where there's a fat seam. This is why I will end up purchasing an RFX. The four sensors should help measure the IT of the middle of a brisket.

This is my brisket from last Friday. I'd like to have rendered the fat in that seam better. I think with an RFX, I'll get a better measure.
