Wondering where I should run the lines for my taylor thermometers. I was thinking of drilling a hole in the side but wanted some advice before I cut into the unit. If this is the best way, where should it go? Twords the top, halfway, or lower? Thanks.

I have the widebody GOSM.

What kind of smoker are you talking about? If it's a GOSM big block, you can easily run them down the top vent, or use some existing holes in the door. I used the existing holes for the probe wires. I've attached pics.

No issues here, but I don't use a permanent mount. I use blocks of wood with magnets on the backside, and washers on the frontside. This alllows me to place them near the rack that the probe is monitoring. I have damaged some old therms by attaching them directly to the cabinet by using the magnets on the unit itself. I've attached some pics. I hope this helps you. Good luck my friend.

Man that wood trick is awesome, dang, when I get mine cured from the fire damage I'm gonna get me some.

Going to pick up some magnets on the way home tonight. Thank you for the input and cool idea.
