Hello,

Thanks for having me! My name's Norwood, I'm in the Raleigh-ish area of NC and I've cooked (and smoked meats) in a barrel charcoal setup with offset smoker for many years- I consider myself a pretty good cook and grillmaster. I need work and practice in the art of smoking so I'm glad I found this site.

I suspect that like many others, I just recently picked up the Masterbuilt Sportsman Elite 30" electric smoker because the price was great. I'm looking forward to the possibility of consistent heat over an extended time! I thank you all in advance for any tips, techniques and wisdom you might share. I'm gonna go look around some.

Welcome from SC, Norwood. This is a great site with lots of really good folks who are always eager to share their ideas and tips. All you have to do is ask and keep reading. There are several good smokers around the Raleigh area. I'm sure they will be around soon to say hello.
