Looking to try another baked bean recipe? This recipe is for 10 to 15 servings.
I usually use a 10.5x12.5x2.5 disposal aluminum container
2 15 oz cans large Butter Beans, rinsed
2 10 oz cans Pork and Beans
3 Cups ketchup
1 15 oz can large Red Kidney Beans, rinsed
2 15 oz cans Bush's Chili Beans
1.5 cups packed Brown Sugar
1 cup diced onion
1 small Green Pepper, diced
1/2 cup Molasses or Honey
2 tablespoons Yellow Mustard
5 Tablespoons BBQ Rub
5 strips Bacon
Preheat oven at 350 degrees; mix all ingredients, except bacon
Cook bacon and crumble into mixture
Bake for 45 minutes or until bubbly
Easy to prepare in slow cooker or smoker, also. The choice of the barbeque rub is key - use anywhere from 4 to 6 tablespoons depending upon the strength of the flavor of the rub. I usually use Willingham's Original Mild.
