October and November and part of December my son who lives with me has been out in Alberta Canada at CFB Wainwright a Military base in Alberta training milatary personnel as part of his job when in active duty.
Since I am the ownly one here other then my dog who would love smoked meat and BBQ I have just done a few tings in this time period. Some smoked salmon and ribs but thats about it. To fill my time I have been doing a lot of laser engraving. I have done ceramic tiles. Wood pictures. Slate coasters. Painted coasters and many other things. Cut, engrave and clear coat. LOL
So I have been searching for a cheaper source for 3mm plywood. Prices just keep going up on Amazon. Found this stuff at Home Depot. "Maple Paper Plywood" Kind of like wall paneling or hardwood floor panels. There is a lot of glue to hold this stuf together which makes it hard to cut but you do get a very nice cut. Just have to add a couple of passes to cut right through. So I tested this stuff out and really like the effect it gives. The only one I added any paint to was the santa hat. I think these will make great coasters. The ship in the bottle was just a after thought. Look at the train engine. The white that shows through was perfect for the smoke. Think thats a glue layer.

Thought I would give my new neighbours a nice wooden Christmas card this year. This was going to be a test piece but I like so much I just might use it instead of making another one. I used my acrylic paint pens to give it some color :)

Wow those are nice! I sure miss my Gretchen. I just not been able to even think about another dog.
You're right Brian, those are amazing. KB does some really nice art.

My wife was just showing me all the beautiful dogs in the local shelters. Might be the perfect time to adopt that new buddy? All the shelters in our area are full. That too makes me sad.

I was trying to find a dog for Gretchen and came out of there with tears in my eyes. So sad.
