hey Y'all,
I know a few of us bought this torch head back when recommended. I did too.
Just be careful and keep a fire extinguisher handy.
Below is a link since I didn't have a picture assembled.
Picture is after mine ignited around the fir control dial. wasn't wearing gloves and dropped it..

Mine came with a card that said " do not invert " and gave a running time limit .
I know mine gets hot right where yours caught fire .

I missed the fire show, but John showed me the mess on Friday morning.
Fortunately no injuries all weekend

Did you see this on the amazon link?

thanks John,
I didn't bother as it's over a year old. Typically the hoops you have to jump with Asian companies outweighs the effort. I figured a one star review might get their attention.
I got a years use before the "poof".
Just moving on. I forgot those things were the price they were.

That might be a warning. I know mine has never gotten hot beyond the front metal shield.
Good thought . I'm always cautious when using a torch of any kind that the flame doesn't creep back . I'm think at low flame that can easily happen with these . I get mine lit , then crank it .

I had one and loved it but I noticed that even when the gas flow knob was shut down tight, there was a small kernel of flame still burning at the torch outlet.
Hard to see inside the 'cup" but it was not shutting off the flame.
I started unscrewing the gas bottle enough to kill the flame.
Must be lucky though as the piezeo electric starter failed soon after and I tossed the whole thing in the recycle bin.

I had a similar experience not as exttreme with mine. It started to melt around the area where yours caught on fire and the flame started to fan out more than I wanted so I ditched it and went back to my trusty sodering tourch
