Smoking newbie

Hey all! Going to be picking up my very first smoker tonight. I've always enjoyed the great taste of well cooked food and have gone wayyyy out of my area to get some. Now with some time I'm hoping to be able to get the same or better at home. Looking forward to learning everything I can about smoking.

First off Welcome to SMF. You'll like it here for there are a lot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Now there are a lot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So if you need sign up for the E-Course it's free and it will give you the basics of smoking and some good methods to use also. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I Just got the smoker all put together. I ended up buying a Brinkman vertical electric smoker. Seemed like a good choice for starting out. I'm going to get everything organized tomorrow (rubs and such) and give a try at some spare ribs and wings this weekend.
