Hi everybody, I'm Brad from Austin, MN - home to the famous SPAM Museum! Anyway, my wife and I lived in Memphis for a few years and grew to love Memphis BBQ. We have never owned a smoker, but we knew many people that smoked professionally, especially in the big Memphis in May competition held there! My wife loves to cook and learned how to prepare some good pulled pork and ribs in her kitchen while living there. However, we have always wanted to prepare it the real way with a smoker! We picked up a Brinkmann Smoke'n Pit over the weekend at a garage sale. So, we are wanting to start it up this week sometime! We don't know the first thing, however, about using a smoker or taking care of it. We have some hickory wood chips, but that is as far as we have gotten. Please give me any input you have! Thanks!
