okay, the title of the thread got ya this far... LOL wondering if anyone knows of an research done into the consumption of smoked meats by an expectant mother to be. we fire the pit every weekend and at times during the week so is always something smoked around the house. just wondering if any reason she should cut back on the frequency/amount
of smoked meat.

thanks

I always figured if you run the smoker hard enuff, you could prevent the contagious melonbelly, some ladys do like the smell of smoke , aferde-she-ak?

Everything in moderation..
So many things can effect pregnancy...to much salt, to much caffeine, no alcohol, no smoking.

My wife is 8 1/2 months pregnant. She never smoked, quit drinking her wine, and all but quit drinking coffee (1 cup, and no other caffeine throughout the day)
She has to eat though, and has been. No problems as of yet. No high BP, no diabetes, and none of the other problems so many women get when pregnant.

Smoke on!

I wouldn't think so in normal consumption, although I ain't no doctor (don't think much of them guys anyway), I wouldn't think there should be anything in there to bother a mother and a little one, maybe if she was eatin it like they feed them poor lab rats she might have a problem. Might just ask the doctor on her next visit his opinion.

Good luck with the little one!
