Just became aware of beard oil as a concept about a year ago, bought some commercially and liked it. Being a diy kind of guy, the next step was to buy some carrier oil and essential oil and start mixing. Now that I'm learning about smoking the light bulb came on and I just put some oil in a pan in the MES with pellets smoking in a tube. Has anyone ever tried something similar? If you have a longer beard you should check out using beard oil, makes your beard look, feel and smell better, and your lady might like it too.

I have had a beard 40 years. This is a new one on me. I use regular hair conditioner to keep it soft, works great. The wife likes me to shower after a day of meat smoking so Smoked Oil sounds like something she would not enjoy smelling when she gets close...JJ

Yeah, it's a thing. I've been experimenting since I found out about it. My wife likes something more like peppermint, 5 or 6 drops will scent a couple of ounces of carrier oil, and that's enough for a long time even on my 6+ inch beard. I'm guessing the smoked oil will be more to my liking than hers.

I haven't experienced anything as described in this Amazon review

"As soon as my Smolder Beard Oil arrived I put some into my beard. The smell enveloped me and I was taken to a memory of outdoor fires and toasted marshmallow. Before I knew what happened I had grabbed my ax and chopped an entire cord of wood. Upon returning to the house, I was greeted by several freshly made pies and baked goods from the neighborhood women as an offering to my manliness. My wife couldn't keep her hands off of my freshly oiled face sweater. We now have 8 kids. It should come with a warning label.
Awesome product! Scent is fantastic. I would highly recommend any of the blades grim products I have tried as they are all in my "go to" product lineup. Keep up the good work blades! I can't wait to try Cinder next"

Pretty sure I don't want my beard smelling like smoke. Peppermint...maybe. Cinnamon...sure. But not smoke.

Hmmm, I only keep my Mustache, but I prefer Hickory Smoke, and a little Worcestershire on mine!

My daughter turned me on to beard oil and balm last fall. Been using it regurlarly ever since. Makes a huge difference in the softness and texture of my beard. I'm using oil, balm and wax from "Badassbeardcare.com" I bought one of their 8 flavor trail kits and my favorite is "The Biker". The trial sizes are smallish, but a little goes a long way. I liked the hog wash, but it's really expensive if you use it as an all around wash like they suggest. For beards, it just takes a dab, but for "body wash" it is way too costly IMO. The oil and balm will keep your skin under the beard in great condition. I also have one of their boar hair beard brushes.

If you have not tried it, I would get a sample of either a single flavor or one of their trial kits. I'm sold on it. They will send you a single flavor trial pack for free if you pay the $1.95 shipping. How can you say no to that?

my beard is getting longer and scratchy (according to my wife) lol a friend of mine uses beard oil and loves it so I know there are a few bearded brothers on here. so do any of you guys or gals  use Beard oil or balms to help soften and control the chin hair?

I use beard oil quite a bit. A great help in taking beard dandruff from dry skin along with smelling good. I use balm occasionally if I'm going somewhere and need it to look it's unruly best lol. I really love Vikings Cedarwood. I also buy a custom blend from a local barber that is the best I've ever used.
