For us all to share...

These are the original Twelve Steps as suggested by Smokaholics Anonymous.
  1. We admitted we were powerless over smoking meat — that our weekends had selfishly become our own.
  2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves has a fat chance in hell to restore us to sanity.
  3. Made a decision to turn our smoke into the thin blue, as the OTBS intended, and as we understood SMF.
  4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of our freezers.
  5. Admitted to SMF, to ourselves, and to another human being, the exact ingredients of our rubs, sauces and marinades.
  6. Were entirely ready to have SMF remove all doubts of our ability to produce great ‘Q .
  7. Humbly asked SMF to remove our shortcomings.
  8. Made a list of all meats we had ruined, and became willing to make amends to try them all again.
  9. Made direct amends to such meats wherever possible, except when to do so would piss off our spouse.
  10. Continued to take personal inventory of our freezers and when we were missing something, promptly admitted it.
  11. Sought through posts and chat rooms to improve our conscious contact with SMF as we understood it, praying only for knowledge of SMF’s Will for us and the power to carry that out.
  12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to smokoholics, and to practice these principles in all our backyards.
