North Texas, Texoma
I been going to the Red River below the Denison Dam for over thirty years. They closed the Oklahoma side where where we go last week. Not sure what all they going to do but they bulldozed all the trees where we hang out. Said will take up to a year to do what ever they have planned. We have gone over to the Texas side. Been dealing with trashy people for years and I really hate litterbugs! One of the guys that hangs out lives just up the road in a trailer and throws all his butts, fireball bottles and trash on the ground. Now I know what trailer trash means! Few others also on the next group that comes down do the same thing. I have tried everything I can think of to stop them. How hard is it to put butts in empty cans and trash in a bag or something? I use to pick up everyday but got tired of it. The Texas side is not going to put up with this I dont want to be associated with trashing it. Been a long day trying to figure out what to do but I decided to just stop going. Like they said only takes a few to ruin it for everyone. Doing my last day of Sunday cocktails tomorrow. I probably start going on the lake side to East Burns Run by myself. OK I'm done ranting

That sucks . Most people around here don't treat stuff like that .
Maybe the Texas side will clean the non caring out of there .

Sorry to hear that Brian! You are a good guy and have been great to those folks. If you were closer to me I’d hang out with you in a heartbeat!
As you know the River has been a huge part of my life and still trying to get use to being without Gretchen.
That's pretty much shoreline fishing in RI.
I just dont understand how people don't take pride in the land around them!
