I'm sure there are those Okies in here who have figured out ways to combat rust on there offset smokers?
 
Actually I keep a cover over my smoker but only after I clean it up after a cook. Don't want moisture to collect under the cover. No matter, I've had some minor rusting that I was able to grind off with my drill and then repaint with some high temp product.
 
I wonder how the guys who have been slopping or spraying oil ...particularly under the fire box have been faring?
