Tampa area, Florida.
Welp... The 5 pm advisory has it as a Cat 3 coming right into Tampa area... WTF ... We don't need anymore of this crap... So now I'll have to watch and see if it progresses as they say... Decide if i'm going to board up or not... If a Cat 3 I will...

To all those on the west coast of Fl. Here we go again.. Stay alert and be prepaired ... But don't take any chance and leave if you think you should...

GOOD LUCK ...

Helene has just about wore me out. As Yogi Berra said, "It's deja vu all over again". Wishing the best for all in its path...

Yup I'm reading Milton is supposed to hit the Sarasota area Weds. as a cat #3. Stay safe folks.

My parents have a condo in North Ft. Meyers that just got put back together not too long ago from bieng flooded BY Ian. I wish they would just sell that place and stay in their cabin here next to me in the Piedmont of Virginia, but at their age they want to escape the cold. And here, we have 4 solid seasons. But we're on a slope that never floods 400ft above sea level and not down stream from a freaking dam.

Best of luck. We still have people in Appalachia FEMA is abusing from the last one.

I am on the Atlantic side at Cocoa Beach, and I am not sticking around for this one.
We are leaving Tuesday, to visit family/friends in KC, and ride it out, well out of reach.
The path of this storm is almost a straight East trajectory, which could cause storm surge on the Gulf coast Florida, that has never been experienced before. It's only 140 miles across at Tampa with very little tree line to slow the hurricane down. They are already discussing reverse storm surge on the Atlantic Side (WTH?) Be safe.

Todays 5 pm update has it officially a Cat 1... expected to strengthen quickly... If nothing changes (path) I will start boarding up tomorrow... Have to work in the morning preparing work for the storm, but boss says we should be out around 1ish...

All ships must leave the port in the morning... The one we have at the dock now followed Helene right up through the gulf.. They made a pit stop in Cuba for a few days... Now they are fixing to get chased by another hurricane...

Hopefully it does... Sarasota is 15-20 miles south of me... That would put me on "The Better" side of the storm...

Stay safe y'all

Good luck Keith!
After Milton is done with you, it looks like he is going to mess with us, were are gonna get another eye come directly over us AGAIN!!
I don’t mind the prep work, it’s the cleanup after that sucks!
Al

Predicted to be just below Cat 4 at land fall currently. They are even talking reverse storm surge on the Atlantic side of the State. Time to go!

Prayers for all, got spared on this last mess that hit east of me by about 50 miles, x coworkers had some issues, love the fishing around the ocean but not the weather, love having 4 seasons, some of them you can't hardly tell from the next but can change in a minute.

Stay safe guys!
We still have many areas without power.
My son finally was able to find a genny adapter to power their well pump yesterday so at least they can maintain with a 2 yr old and 6 mo. old. He going on day 11 but we're still very fortunate compared with others.

Keith

Now they are saying Cat 5. I have about half our stuff secured, will do the rest in the morning. Keith, I’m praying it doesn’t go North of you, that would be the worst case scenario for you. Even if it goes below you, I think the way it’s going we still will be on the worst side.

Well, We're lucky enough to be on the south side again. Thankfully according to the news asses locally. We're not exiting or boarding up. Was smart enough to hit WAWA Sunday morning at 5AM with my jerry cans and F-150, just in case.
Be careful y'all. Home depot must have mailed out the commission checks to the Weather people cause now they're talking 5, but those things sometimes shear before land. hopefuly.

Thanks Y'all... Unfortunatly I am at work and can't start prepping yet... I don't know what the hell to do... I am NOT getting stuck on the interstate in traffic.. I do know that...

Al... I'm hoping like hell it drops to the south some...

Stay safe everybody and good luck... Hopefully we'll see ya on the flip side

Prayers for everyone in it's path...
Latest is CAT5 with 175mph winds!! I hope some wind shear knock it down a bit before landfall, but either way, a CAT3 is no fun!!!

Well I wouldn't mind driving to Ohio to save my life, not sure why folks who have the $$ to go somewhere decide they know better than the weather folks. Surely they could bus folks somewhere to get them out of the storm path. Beat feet north no need to wait till tomorrow leave now.
