Barbecue Teriyaki Sauce
3/4 c. soy sauce
1 tbsp. Sake or other wine
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. grated or ground ginger
1 clove garlic or
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
Soak meat in sauce for at least an hour before cooking. Grill chicken, shrimp, beef, fish, ribs as desired. Serve with extra sauce heated.
Basic Beef BBQ Sauce
1 can tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste
1 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. olive oil
3 cloves garlic, crushed
4 tbsp. minced onion
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. dry mustard
2 tsp. cayenne
1 tsp. ground pepper
Heat oil in a saucepan. Add onion and garlic; cook until slightly brown. Stir in remaining ingredients; bring to a boil and reduce heat. Apply to ribs.
Tennessee BBQ Sauce
1 1/2 c. ketchup
1 med. onion, chopped
1/4 c. brown sugar
2 1/2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 tbsp. bourbon
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce
SautÃ[emoji]169[/emoji] onion and garlic in oil until tender. Add other ingredients and mix well. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes.
Orange Barbeque Sauce
6 oz. chili sauce
1/4 c. orange juice
1/4 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. molasses
2 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. onion, grated
1/2 tsp. ginger, grated
2 tsp. hot pepper sauce
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Stir to blend then bring to a boil and let it cool. Makes about 1 1/4 cups. Will keep for a brief period if refrigerated. Serve with barbequed ribs, roast chicken or beef.
