I bought a used Cookshack SM008 last week. Paid $250 for it. It is a small three rack electric smoker. Exterior is sheet steel, interior and top is stainless steel. Sanded quite a bit of the steel down to get rust pockets cleaned out, then primed and painted with high temp black. Interior was very clean, bare metal. I had to do a seasoning smoke it was so clean.
I also installed a red LED indicator light so I would know when the element is on.

Found a nice 2 drawer filing cabinet for $20 at a thrift shop that I put some 4 inch casters on after cleaning it up and painting. Smoker fits very well on it.

I may look for a bigger led light. Camera makes it look white, but you can see the red in reflection on top of smoker in the last picture.

Doing a dismantled turkey for 1rst smoke. Brined turkey overnight. Using 3 oz cherry wood for smoke. And using my NEW Inkbird IBT 4XS thermometer bought using the code found on black friday post. (Thanks Inkbird!)

Congrats!!
Looks Good---Nice Job!
That's the first Smoker my Son had.
He never took care of it, and it rusted bad & the door fell off.
The only thing he didn't like about it was the top vent hole was in the middle of the top, and dripped on his food.
He had to hang a can under it.

Let's see some Vittles soon!!

Maker that is a great price and nice refurb job. I have a little larger one I bought about 17 years ago or so and interior as well as exterior is stainless. Still going strong. Mine doesn't have the light and agree with Bear the hole in center is bad placing and I fight the darn drip also. Gotta try that can trick on next smoke.
They are really efficient in wood use. I drilled a hole in sidewall about 1/3 the way down from top so I would not have to run my temp prob through top hole.

Still have and use your Cookshack? I bought one on an auction for like $ 60 I think... too long ago I don't remember . Needs to be restored... must have used the heck out if it or never cleaned it. It's a model 50

And yes, and old thread I know

I bought a Smokin-It #3 and gave the cookshack to an inlaw. He loves it too.
