Twice since spring I have found boneless ribeye roasts for $4.99 a pound. Purchased one both times ($70 purchases), stocking up for the holidays !!!

These are here like than in S. Louisiana twice a month or so. One store starts and the others seem to compete and follow suit.

we in northeast FLa can get ribeye roast all year roll but then we can bbq all year round. I pay 4.99 lb all the time. I haven't seem them on sale for years.

Beef grading has been modified and changed over the years; what was Choice in the 60's and 70's is now considered Prime as feedlots continue to produce leaner and heathier carcasses with more tenderness. Fat content is reduced buy FAT is not (Flavor And Tenderness).

A good article on beef grading is at :

http://www.ams.usda.gov/AMSv1.0/getf...STELDEV3002979

by the US Gov't USDA grading program. About as dry a read as rice cakes, but informative and gives you a more complete sense of what goes into producing such grading.
