Pork Brine?

    I was wondering if anyone ever does a brine on their pork butts? Or do most just do a rub?
    I usually just rub them up and let them sit in the fridge from nite till morning. I saw a show on the food network with Alton Brown where he used a brine and thought of trying it.

    I dont, but have a freind that does all the time.
    1 gallon water
    1 cup kosher salt
    1 cup suger, he uses brown
    3-4T some rub,or spices of your choice

    Soak for 8-10 hours, you can sub a juice for the water, and adjust the rub/spice to your taste.

    Thia works with all meats, just adj. times
