I could not resist. Lord help me. I pulled the trigger.

You're wiser than I .They have a couple here but I am resisting!
They have racks for the 18"WSM to hang ribs and birds on. I haven't tried it myself but I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on one soon. You're wiser than I .
I'm already having a touch of buyers remorse, and I've not smoked with it yet. Its disappointing that there's no way to control temp, as other drums have. Maybe there's a reason these are deeply discounted ????
However, I bought this with direct heat cooking in mind. And specifically to cook yardbird. I've been smoking some delicious chicken on my 18" WSM, using direct high heat. For me, its the best way to smoke yardbird.
But on the 18 WSM, I've got a problem with crowding the cooking grate. Four chicken halves cover almost the entire grate. Now I will have the option to hang the birds or put them on a grate with plenty of room.
The only way to find out if a drum is better for this, is to try it . And at this price tag, its not a big risk. If it does not work out, I can sell this for close to what I paid for it.

I clicked on the link and it wants me to prove that I'm human. Now that's an impossible task.

That's normal . I do the same .I'm already having a touch of buyers remorse,
This may or may not help . Something I was messing with for my kettles . Might be an idea there somewhere , but adding extra supports would be way cheaper .My only possible draw back now, is the distance between the coal bed and the cooking grate.
