We painted our vinyl 4 years ago and it's doing better than the original vinyl. In order to properly paint vinyl, is it needs to be cleaned, ie scrubbed with a brush and TSP, next the paint needs to be tinted with vinyl safe tints.....ie no black pigments (most the top shelf paints have special formulas for vinyl). if you paint the AL it should be cleaned then a primer for AL then paint....... Painting the AL is harder than the vinyl.

Always open to suggestions, Ryan...😄
Some of these guys would give you great advice... me on the other hand wouldn't care if it's neon pink. Just hand me a drink and show me what's on the smoker... that's my favorite color!

Apparently so because I've seen paint peeling off of aluminum fascia...
For AL, I would wash with a scotch bright and TSP, then paint with bullseye then the top coat..... I would also tend to use a sprayer for the application, I have a Fuji sprayer....ie can get a nice application that is very controlled.......

For vinyl you want to brush it in the texture and not spray......

Ah good deal! Our vinyl had lots of creases and texture and the Sherwin Williams rep recommended we brush, but we used a self priming top coat.

Wasn’t calling you out bud lol. Just saying what worked for us
Understood, going into the project I was fully planning on a prime coat and topcoat all sprayed so when the rep recommended brush (with the TSP brush scrub first) with just the topcoat (SW Emerald) I was a bit skeptical at first......but I'm pleased now.... Alot of vinyl in our area gets painted over.....
