Had the Lodge enameled 5.5 qt for 3 years. Only discoloring has occurred from baking sour dough boules at the 475° high heat. We make soup or stew every other week and it had held up well.
I am a Scout leader and the cruelest thing we ever did to the youth was expect them to cook in cast iron pans and dutch ovens. Cooking in CI is not for feeble youth cooking skills. Most of the youth these days can barely use a microwave. Barely much of the 20-30 year old generation can barely cook above a microwave level
