I've been smoking for years now, on a gas grill, with sam smoker boxes, I have two of them. I would do it with the two boxes on the outside, burns set low as it goes to keep a flame, and my food item in the middle with no heat. Yes it worked, but was a real pain to keep it low and slow, a real pain. So as of today I retired the grill from full time smoking, will still use it to grill, and will use the smokers while grilling, but it is done trying to be a smoker. Today I picked up a Masterbuilt 30" electric, will take it home and season it tonight. Smoke a few things over the weekend. Shrimp and a few steaks, will grill them after the smoke has left its kiss. And a pork tenderloin, with some corn, and asparagus. I have also placed my order for a A-Maze-N, can't wait for it to show up. Hopefully I have a great setup for the weekend smoker, and will be turning out the best stuff I have ever done shorty. BTW, some BassPro's will honor their website price. Currently the web price is $179.99 in store is $229.99. yep thats a saving of $50 right there. Paid for the cover and the tax, and still out the door with $$ in hand, so happy. The $$ I save will by the meat to try on the smoker.
