No smoking here this weekend. I'm going to attempt to install a rope gasket to the lid of the cgsp. Found some on clearance at Home Depot for $1.00 a bag (1/4 " x 84" long) and the cement was only $1.00 too. Couldn't pass that up. Also got some high temp stove sealant for around the firebox and the numerous other holes.

Will give it a thorough clean while it is all stripped apart then a seasoning to test things out and cure all the sealant.
 
Cool......Keep us posted on how it goes.......post some pics too......I just got a char-griller gas grill and I am looking at adding a side fire box to it also...........
 
Wow, sounds like Iowas weekend to work, workin on the cookin section of the deck tom. gonna move the smoker over and run a batch of fish and chix drummies for norishment during the construction.

Hope your mods work out like you wan't!

 
Is a busy weekend all around. Was out today cut and splitting more firewood for indoors. Thought i would be done with that by now.

At least tomorrow it looks like the rain is going to hold off till late evening.

Planning to take pics of everything.
