Newbie, sort of, from GA

My name is Al and I am a smoker.

I have owned 2 gas 7-in-1's for the past 20 years. It all started when I was living in CT and missed the GA bbq I grew up with (thats pulled pork), I decided to try and do it myself. I didn't really know much, I just developed a system that seemed to work and the meats were great. When the last 7-in-1 gave out I started researching to get a new one and came across this site. I decided on a Masterbuilt Pro and will do some of the mods I found on this site. I love to tinker so preparing the smoker itself is part of the fun. After hours of research I have planned out the mods. I will post pictures when they are done....if they turn out.

I look forward to experimenting with different meats and recipes. I am doing my first smoke this weekend, the trusty pork butt and may try to add some ribs. I haven't ever used rubs so I am going to find one on this site to try.
