Hey Everyone,

I was lucky enough this Christmas to get a Masterbuild Electric Smoker along with Jeff's book.  Devoured the book pretty quickly, found this site (which is awesome) and am ready to begin smoking for the first time.

Starting tomorrow with some beer can chicken along with some chicken wings.

This forum is really much benefit to someone who is excited but going into it without any experience.  From the threads I've read it seems everyone is extremely helpful, especially with questions that are probably pretty routine/standard for people that have been doing this awhile.

I look forward to some delicious eating!

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  A word of warning: There is no 12 step program for this one!  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  Remember to season that smoker before the first cook.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Thanks for the welcome Danny!  Can't wait to get going this afternoon.

Gary and Red,

Thanks for the welcome.  Chicken and wings are ready to go and smoker is heating up.  Going with Ginger Beer for the "beer can" portion because I've had a few of those in my fridge from a summer "Moscow Mule" phase and am dying to get rid of them.

Taking some pics now and will post later today to let everyone know how it went and look for recommendations on what went right and what I could have done differently next time around.

Smoking and Bowl games all day.  Not a bad way to end 2013!
