Hey guys Hows everyone?!! I stumbled on this forum and have to say its been great!! I have been smoking for years on everything from webers, ECB's, New Braunfels, BGE, and such. Just never looked online much for much about smoking til now. I was looking at char-grillers and wanted to know more about them and looked up mods for them and stumbled. Really great to see a wealth of info on Char-griller. I pretty much have made my decision between that and the MES. ECB has been my smoker of choice the past few years, before I had a New braunfels offset and loved it. So I wanted to go back to offset and seen how cheap the char griller and the MES was so then then the price/features battle was on!! Anyways its great to read about some smoking mods and such. I learned the ECB mods myself years ago and that thing doesnt get the credit it deserves sometimes, I know I am in california and the weather is nice but most of the time that little bullet is set it and forget it also, I can cool it or stoke it pretty quick too with ease. and it has turned out some out of this world Q. Well here are a few pics from tonites smoke, Just thighs and a sausage!! I forgot to show beer in hand.

and some finished product

all you need is a therm and a beer

Welcome newb. You got a name & location there? I have a char griller. Check the link in my sig. If you have any questions fire them off. Maybe I can be an expert for you in that area as I am still new to smoking myself. Have fun. People around here are the friendliest I have ever come across on a forum.

Thanks guys, Etcher- I just was in fayetteville over the summer in bella vista, Great place. Sircave- handle is Sprayking and I live in Santa Rosa CA. Acemakr- Yea, My ECB is very old and very seasoned and has a lot of miles but these things I think last forever!! I think I will be heading down to lowes this weekend and pickup the Char griller. Its under 170$ with the SFB and I think I will be fooling around with it soon. See if it is able to fill in the New Braunfels shoes. Its actually pretty thick and looks like it will keep good temps with some mods. Will be posting pics with the new smoker. Just hope that I dont spend 200 hundred and still use my ecb!! Thx ......
