Hi to all,

writing here from Grove City, Western PA. Have been looking around here for the past few weeks since I have been on the kick of getting a smoker. Ran down to Cabelas in WV last Saturday and purchased a Masterbuilt electric smoker. Cured my machine and decided to do a fatty the next night (still need to research on how to post pictures). It came out OK, but the bacon was too strong. I am planning on cooking up my first batch of beef jerkey this weekend.

I have to make time for this new hobby of mine. I also enjoy metal detecting, flying gas RC planes and fishing for walleye up on Lake Erie.

I have appreciated all the help I have received here. I really enjoy all the great posts, recipes and tips.

good luck all

Welcome to the SMF. When I did my first fatties, I thought the same thing, however my father couldn't quit talking about them. I learned that thinly sliced on an english muffin is good. Also good covered with eggs and cheese or country style gravy.

Welcome to SMF glad you joined us. It won't be long and you'll be finding time for smoking like the rest of us addicts
