Hello All. I became a smokin fan after I attended a BBQ where a lamb shoulder was served. I was hooked. The very next day I went to Wal-Mart and bought a propane powered GOSM. I've been reading the forum for about 2 weeks now and have gotten some excellent ideas from all of you. Thanks to everyone who contributes, this forum is excellent, and full of classy people.

WD, i got the best of both world last year, went to the game in Iowa City, drank many, came home and went to the drinking establishment over in Ames, oddly enough they were'nt very busy, o well they don't useally have much to celebrate about.
This year i will probly end up cooken for a block party and watch on tv.

Debi, WE are the GREAT pork state, and besides , there ain't much to do in IOWA other than kill it and grill(smoke) it and participate in adult beverage consumpsion, oh and watch the HAWKEYES and do the above while watching

Debi, acually i think there are alot of people who smoke meat in IOWA, and have the BBQLOSSEL, There are many pork and beef producer organizations that have BIG trailer units and cook alot of what they support for fund raisers, chuch functions and so on. and we are getting lots of KCBS and other nonsanctioned cookoffs, and lots of people are at these events cuz they are run with various celebrations and town functions, we are a fairly rural state so it gives people sumthing to do

And we just got the internet in our lovely state, even if ISU think they invented it along with the computer.

des moines was actually a fun town from what i remember.. it was kinda strange hearing the Dekalb crop report on a heavy rock station though.....

i didn't mean it bad - i had some friends there and i lived in minneapolis so i passed through often... i just don't remember much... they don't just make ethanol outta all that corn....
