  1. Just introducing myself here. I am looking to start smoking. I have always enjoyed grilling, but love smoked food. I was registered on this site before the major problem occurred. I had not introduced myself at that point, however. And now I have reregistered.

I am looking at buying an MES to start with. I feel the digital smoker could help me to learn the trade.

I mostly lurked before and have learned a lot by reading information here. Hope to learn much more.

Welcome! There is a wealth of knowledge here. If you have a question all you need to do is ask!! If you have never smoked before the easiest smoker is the Brinkman electric. Its cheap and easy! Once you get used to smoking and are willing to try to control the heat and perfect your trade then move up to a fire box or lump charcoal smoker. You will hear a thousand ideas hear but I personally feel that the Brinkman electric smoker is the simplest smoker to start on. here is a link. Wal-Mart and Lowe's carry it as well.

Welcome to SMF , you won't go wrong with the MES ... go for the 40 inch if you can ... another good choice would be the Bradly digital ... don't forget the q-view

  15. I was looking at the Bradley digital, but decided I didn't want to have to use the bisquette's if I didn't want to. I called the Bradley customer service number and was told that you must use their bisquette's.

I still think I want to go with a digital smoker and that is why I am leaning to the Masterbuilt. Unsure yet if I feel the 40 inch will ever be needed or if the smaller one will be all I'll need.

Thanks for the input. All suggestions are welcomed.
