Hello,

My name is Nick an I am new to the forum as well as Smokers..I am a married father of three who resides in east central/East Ohio .I received a cheaper charcoal grill with the offset side box for smoking(between 100 and 200$)..I am hoping this works out for me for the time being..

Welcome to the forum Nick!  Offset smokers can work great. I would suggest at least one mod. Buy/build/make a charcoal basket for the burn chamber. I have one in my SFB and use lump charcoal with wood chips mixed in. I can hold a fairly consistent temp for about 5 hours with great TBS no problems. Looking forward to your Q-view!
