I am very new to the forum and to smokin' in general. However, I have read a lot and learned a lot from the many knowledgable users on this forum. Special thanks to my work colleague and friend, SolarYellow. He was also an invaluable resource. This weekend was my first smoke, which consisted of jalapeno poppers wrapped in bacon and my second smoke was a boston butt pork roast. Both went well except for a Taylor Weekend Warrior thermometer. It went up and down and at the end was not accurate, but the old analog stand in was perfect and in the end, my family and I ate some very good pulled pork. Again, many thanks. My smoker is a 18.5" WSM and I really enjoy it so far.
