Hi all, My name is Mike and I am from the Lancaster area. I have a noname electric smoker box with a smoke pistol mounted on the side. Just starting out and learning the art of smoking. Lookinf foward to some killer ribs and things.

Hey Mike,
You're right around the corner from me! I have never heard of a smoke pistol. The weekend of April 20th they had a mid-Atlantic smoke "show" out in Lancaster...Did you get to go? It was killing me that I couldn't make it...So close but yet so far...

Hello Mike, If you want to learn about smoking you came to the right place. Everytime I log on I learn something new. I really like your part of the state. Go to following link http://http://www.smokepistol.com/ So far I like it but being new have nothing to compare it to. Yes it does get hot but not as much as I thought. I have hickory,oak, apple,cherry,alder wood cartridges for it each one lasts about 4 hrs. It has a little adjustment knob to turn down the amout of smoke it puts out, I have to run it very low for my size smoker. one great advantage is the ability to cold smoke since it produces little heat into smoker. I just got out of bed at 5 and put a pork shoulder in smoker and set her up with apple wood smoke. Should be good in about 12 hrs.
