I need to buy some gloves for pulling meat off racks, grabbing the racks, covering hands when you put the mustard and rub on meat, etc, etc. Can somebody recommend some good gloves that can be used for these things?
What you would need for pulling meat off the racks and moving the racks themselves are silicon heat resistant gloves. Uslaly they are good up to 400-500 degrees. They are big and bulky, not really suited to applying rubs. For that you can use a pair of latex, non powdered disposable gloves.
Sam's is discontinuing their pair of silicone gloves and if your local store still has some they are currently less than $5 a pair. That is a great deal.
For handling hot meat and pulling pork, I use these PVC coated gloves, you can shred a butt in about 2 minutes and not feel the heat. I have a box of them.
should.......but as you see....i havent used it yet..........but its rated to 500*.....i am thinking bout moving the chip box around......or a smoking wood round........my horz. doen'st really have racks to move around.........but my ecb does...........adjust meat.......should be no problem.............cept for grease stains......lol
